I was responsible for writing, photography, and management of the department's intranet site at London Health Science Centre. A working group discussion arrived at a consensus of the site architecture, which I then refined and developed streamlined content for each of the pages, including some photography.

I designed many banners for ONPHA's website and social networking channels, often with calls to action to direct visitors to key content. Use of Windows Content Manager, HTML, CSS, and Photoshop to manage content, design graphics for, and layout hundreds of webpages. Use of Intelligent Query Architect to include member-specific information from the associated database. Also trained other staff in the content system to manage their own content. I was also responsible for setting up and managing ONPHA's social media accounts, including Facebook, youTube, and Twitter. Visit the site at onpha.on.ca. I was responsible for developing a fresh, new visual scheme for the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association's new blog. The site also needed to be user-friendly enough for other staff to create and edit their own posts.
Content was developed by other staff, while I provided copy editing and tagging for use on the blog. The site can be seen at writeon.onpha.on.ca. I created the portfolio website as part of my role as Marketing Designer with the company. The site employed Flash animation, HTML, and CSS and profiled the principals biographies and selected projects. I also took architectural photographs for many of the showcased projects. I developed marketing copy targeting private surgeons in Southwestern Ontario for a turnkey service. I also provided the acquisition of stock photography, and layout services for a 12-page brochure. In addition, I created a business card and website with the same visual scheme. I created this memorial website on a pro-bono basis as a special request from the deceased's family, The story of his murder was, at the time, receiving some publicity in that one of the perpetrators was up for parole after serving time in prison. The writing on the site had to be carefully crafted to reflect the family's displeasure at the murderer's publicity, but also remain a veneration of their lost father and husband rather than an angry diatribe. I adopted the colours of the traditional native medicine wheel in the design, and the site also included a customized server-side guestbook. I provided photography and web design services for the promotion of a local modern dance company. I designed a slick, flash-based website for this architectural firm that reflected their clean, minimalist design sensibility. I used their logo as a take-off for an animated, folding menu. Additional pages included showcases of their projects. |
