I completed the graphic layout for an independent singer-songwriter's album release, including disc sticker and folding lyric insert. All work was completed on a tight deadline for a Valentine's Day release. Use of Photoshop and InDesign and delivery of press-ready files to the printer. During my time with ONPHA, I was responsible for delegate photography at the Association's Annual Conference, as well as event photography at housing provider sites, and building photography when needed. The photos were used for future marketing of the events as well as education courses and general stock photos for the Quick Connections newsletter, Annual Report, and website. At the annual conferences, photos taken were quickly edited and compiled together with sponsor and marketing slides for a looping slideshow during the banquet dinner. Delegates were always delighted at seeing their faces on the large screens mere hours after the photos were taken. I worked with the signage company to design the trade show booth for the ONPHA annual conference. The design had to satisfy several criteria, including reflecting the association's member-driven service and the educational resources we provided. Most of the photos used were shot by myself at various ONPHA and member events.
Use of Photoshop and InDesign to create quarter-size files to the manufacturer specifications. I was responsible for selecting photographs and videos to reflect the award winner narrative. This often required some creative use of stock photos to fill gaps as a result of too few or irrelevant photos from the award winner. See the complete list of award videos (2008 to 2013). I was responsible for developing a fresh, new visual scheme for the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association's new blog. The site also needed to be user-friendly enough for other staff to create and edit their own posts.
Content was developed by other staff, while I provided copy editing and tagging for use on the blog. The site can be seen at writeon.onpha.on.ca. I provided digital photography, video and audio recording of a independent singer-songwriter showcase. I made use of “on-board” and room sound recording for the highest quality audio. All of the final videos are available here: bit.ly/O6uMVF I recorded a keynote presentation by Dr. Randy Frost, an expect on the issue of hoarding, for the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association. Dr. Frost asked that his slides be excluded from the video, as they contained images of people's private homes. I ran a line from the room mixer direct into the camcorder to get optimum sound quality. I worked closely with a solo singer-songwriter to produce, record, and perform on her independent CD release. I also provided photography, video and layout services. The CD included a music video that I shot, directed, and edited. I assisted a supplier of equipment and medical supplies prepare a proposal for exclusive distribution privileges in the Canadian breast implant market. I provided writing, proposal layout and business cards for the new business venture. |
